Doctor O’Brien has 20 years of experience practicing naturopathic medicine in Arizona.   
 

Dr. O’Brien also served as the Dean of Naturopathic Medicine at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM).  She continues her association with the College as a mentor physician and as a member of the SCNM Admissions Committee.   
Dr. O’Brien has also served as Secretary of the Council of Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME), the national organization responsible for accreditation of naturopathic medical education programs across the U.S.

Dr. O’Brien completed her Bachelor’s degree in microbiology in biochemistry in 1981 at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.  After moving to the United States, she obtained her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine in 1993 from Bastyr University in Seattle.  While in medical school, Dr. O’Brien worked as a massage therapist.
